Privacy.
We collect the minimum needed to operate and reply, we store it securely, and we never sell it. This page describes exactly what that means.
1. Who we are
"Chance", "we", "us", or "our" refers to the Chance personal services business operated in the United States. You can reach us at [email protected].
This privacy policy covers meetchance.ai and any correspondence you have with us during the early, invite-only period. When Chance expands into a full consumer service, this policy will be updated to describe the additional data handling involved, and we will notify anyone who has contacted us before the new terms take effect.
2. What the website collects
The meetchance.ai website itself does not ask you to fill in a form, log in, or provide personal information unless you choose to join the waitlist. The static pages of the site collect:
- No cookies. We do not set cookies for tracking, analytics, or advertising.
- No analytics. We do not use Google Analytics or any other behavioral tracker on meetchance.ai.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records request-level metadata — IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp — as part of its network-level security and performance functions. We do not mine these logs for marketing.
3. What we collect when you contact us or join the waitlist
When you send email to [email protected] or submit the waitlist form, we store:
- Your name and email address.
- Your mobile phone number (if you submit the waitlist form and opt in to receive SMS or RCS messages from Chance).
- The content of your messages and our replies, and any free-text details you provide on the waitlist form.
- The date, time, and consent timestamp for any opt-in you actively granted (see Section 6 — Text messaging).
We use this information only to reply to you, deliver the service you asked for, keep a record of the conversation for quality and dispute purposes, and remember context if you contact us again.
4. How we use your information
We use the information above only for these purposes:
- Replying to you. Answering your questions and following up if needed.
- Delivering the messages you opted in for. Sending order confirmations, delivery and status updates, appointment reminders, and verification codes via SMS or RCS when you actively opted in to receive them.
- Keeping a record. Retaining the correspondence so we can reference it later if you contact us again, or resolve a future dispute.
- Keeping the site safe. Detecting abuse, spam, or attempts to misuse the email address or phone number.
5. Who we share your information with
We share information only in the following narrow circumstances:
- Infrastructure providers. Cloudflare (DNS, hosting, email routing), Twilio (SMS and RCS message delivery), and our email provider handle message transport as part of delivering our service. They receive only what is necessary for transport.
- Legal requirements. If we receive a valid subpoena or court order, we will comply to the extent legally required. We will notify you when we are legally permitted to do so.
- Business transfers. If Chance is acquired, merged, or its assets sold, your information may transfer to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy unless you agree otherwise.
We do not sell your data to advertisers, marketers, or data brokers. Period.
6. Text messaging (SMS and RCS)
Chance sends text messages over SMS and RCS only to phone numbers that have actively opted in through our website. The information you provide when opting in — your phone number, your consent timestamp, and the specific campaign you opted into — is used only to deliver the text-message service you requested.
All the categories of personal information described above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any Chance message, by emailing [email protected] with a removal request, or via the support page. Reply HELP for help. Message frequency varies based on your activity with Chance — typically a small number of messages per task you initiate. Message and data rates may apply.
For full details about the text-messaging program, see our Terms of Service.
7. How we protect your information
Email correspondence, waitlist submissions, and any records we keep are stored on commercial-grade cloud infrastructure in the United States. Access is authenticated and logged. We follow industry standard practices for vulnerability management and access review.
No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a security breach that affects your information, we will notify you promptly with a description of what was exposed and what we're doing about it.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, and delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address you used to contact us. We respond within 30 days.
9. California residents
If you are a California resident, the CCPA and CPRA grant you additional rights, including the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties we've shared the information with. You may also opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — though since we do not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes, this opt-out is automatic.
10. European residents
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the GDPR grants you the rights described above plus the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. We do not currently offer Chance commercially in the EEA; if you reach us from the EEA we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your rights on request.
11. Children
Chance is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has contacted us, reach out and we will delete the associated record.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top reflects the most recent update. If we make material changes that affect how we use your existing data, we will notify anyone who has corresponded with us before the changes take effect.
